Prior to launching encognize, Bruno Abrioux-Takano has worked since 1999 for global organizations and Fortune 500 & 200 companies delivering mission critical technology solutions and related services to the Financial Services Industry.
Bruno has held a variety of management positions in Europe and then APAC with roles spanning from Head of IT Operations and Chief Technology Officer, to Director of Relationship Management, Head of Account and Sales Management as well as Chief Administrative Officer. He has been based in Japan since 2007. Since encognize incorporation in 2017, Bruno has directly supported an extensive number of B2B startups, scale-ups and Small & Medium Businesses from multiple industries in their growth and international expansion journey 「from.to.within」 APAC as a fractional CxO and Expansion Advisor. In addition to his regular activities as mentor and coach to various Innovation Service Providers, Bruno has also directly led the design, delivery and supervision of several renowned accelerator and expansion programmes sponsored by Government and large Corporations. Bruno earned a master of engineering in computer sciences from the French University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC), with a major in automation and real time systems, and a minor in philosophy, technology, and cognition. |

Before joining encognize as COO and Cross-Border Innovation Partner, Brian Lim was the APAC Head of Startup Programmes / Expand at Rainmaking, where he worked extensively with scaleups, industry-leading corporations and government agencies to drive new commercial opportunities and search for new sources of growth. He also launched offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan where he recruited and trained > 30 core team members.
When Brian started his career, he spent time at Intel in Malaysia and Portland, Oregon, where he spearheaded an international benchmarking exercise to identify operational gaps and proposed recommendations, yielding a 20% increase in engineering workforce efficiency while optimizing business processes and overseeing a budget of >$100M, resulting in organisation-wide cost savings of $1M / quarter and time savings of > 1,000 hours. At encognize, Brian oversees market expansion initiatives which support startups, scale-ups, and SMBs in expanding internationally by helping them identify new markets, design go-to-market strategies, and facilitate key business introductions. His sector specialisation includes semiconductors, electric mobility, energy, TravelTech, construction and has a passion for SportsTech. |
